Introduction:

These fellow Arctic animals are endangered species. They are cinnamon brown, tusked, and fin footed walruses. People have been hunting them and here is a program for hunting Atlantic Walruses. In this report, I’m gonna talk about the walrus’s habitat, diet, mating, fun facts, and an conclusion. Hope you enjoy reading this report.

Diet:

They eat clams, mussels, and carcass of young walruses when food is scarce. They often eat bottom sea dwelling animals. They are carnivores and partly cannibals. They were hunted by polar bears. To get in the water for hunting and safety, they slam their head against the ice and make a hole with its tusks. The hole is also a breathing hole to hunt longer.

Habitat:

They live in water near Greenland and Canada. They spend half of their time in water and half of their time on land. They can stay in water for 30 mins. They live on ice and in water. Walruses change their habitats a lot because they migrate South in Winter and North in Summer. They can swim up to 18,000 miles.

Mating:

Walruses find their mate after 6-7 years old while they can live for about 40 years. The bull (male) will fight and kill for their mate and the cow (female) will marry the winner. In breeding seasons, they form separate herds. The cow hauls on ice to give birth to the calf (baby) in May or June.
